Melisa Wong – Poster seminar and workshop

Seminar: ‘The power of Posters’

Melisa Wong will be showing a history of posters from  pre-war days to present and trace the development of styles and techniques used by the masters. These will be random selection of visual posters most or some of which are familiar to art history students, graphic students and collectors

Workshop: ‘At the point of Change’

At the workshop, the participant’s ideas on ‘Points of Change’ will be developed as visuals. The workshop takes place in two stages:

In Stage one the participants  present their ideas in the form of a sketch, craft, photographic reference, installation or a digital image or simply explain their idea orally

In Stage two participants develop their ideas visually. The point of change and transformation should be a personal journey of self discovery within himself or herself or of their surroundings and his or her experiences day to day. Posters are about communication, to a specific audience, each of students must know who the target audience are and what the message is trying to convey
